Community Reinvestment Act

For banks, investing in the early childhood sector may help meet requirements of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), according to the Minneapolis Fed. Activities and investments that can meet CRA requirements include:

  • extending credit to child care providers;
  • giving forgivable loans or grants to child care providers or early childhood organizations; and
  • offering bank staff time and financial expertise to support the child care industry.
